What has Karthik done? First Karthik looked for children and young adults who wanted to join him in standing up for their rights. He met 80 young people , of which 32 joined his cause. Together with a large group, Karthik then put together a manifesto about child labor and education. Beliefs and views are written clearly and summarised in a manifesto.
The manifesto was spread through printouts and online media. Furthermore Karthik , together with 20 young people, visited politicians in three different places to present the manifesto personally. Later, Karthik organized a few more gatherings to discuss the manifesto with children and young people.
How did it go? Through his activities, Karthik has reached many children and young people, of which many had taken part in the manifesto. He was given the chance to show children, young people and politicians the children’s rights situation, on the basis of statistics and facts.
In which way has Karthik made an impact? Almost 20 politicians from various parties have read the manifesto and have agreed to raise the issue in their political agenda. Besides that, almost 300 children and young people have learned more about children’s rights and how important it is that children’s rights are better enforced.
