Taran wants to raise awareness about children’s rights among children in rural Mauritius by holding workshops! Read more about Taran’s project here.
What did Taran do? Taran has held two workshops on children’s rights in the countryside of Mauritius with the aid of the organization he works at. The focus of these workshops was the right to education for all children. He wanted to communicate how important learning to read, write and count are for the future of a child.
How did it go? 75 children, youths and parents attended the workshops. While Taran did not expect the parents, he was happy that they showed interest as well and he added a short section aimed at them to the end of his workshops. He will make sure that future workshops will be interesting for both children and parents.
What was the impact of Taran’s project?Taran informed the attendees about children’s rights. He was happy to see the children and youths also learned from each other. The workshop was interactive and everyone was invited to share their own stories and opinions about the right to education.
